Profile of School Leaders
Jacinta Lim has helmed Yangzheng Primary School since December 2007. After graduating from the National University of Singapore and getting her Postgraduate Diploma in Education at the National Institute of Education, she taught humanities in Catholic High School and served as Head of Department for Humanities in both Fajar Secondary and Canberra Secondary Schools. She assumed the role of Vice-Principal in Canberra Secondary School and was appointed Principal of Yangzheng Primary School upon completion of the Leaders in Education Programme. Under Mrs Lim’s leadership, the school has attained a series of notable achievements – from academic excellence to many award attainments in line with promoting holistic education, placing Yangzheng Primary School as a choice school among parents in the Serangoon area.
Mrs Lim believes that every child can succeed, given the right environment. Hence, West Spring Primary will have a happy and caring environment for children, where they are nurtured by specially identified experienced, competent, dedicated and caring teachers.
Mrs Lim was conferred the National Day Commendation Medal in 2007. She was also conferred the Distinguished Service (Bronze Vanda) Award 2013 by President Tony Tan Keng Yam on 24 July 2013 for her significant service to the Scout Movement.
On 9 August 2013, Mrs Jacinta Lim was conferred the following National Day Award: Public Administration Medal (Bronze) for her outstanding efficiency, competence & industry in the field of education.
On 7 November 2014, Mrs Jacinta Lim was conferred the Work-Life Leadership Award by the Tripartite Committee on Work-Life Strategy, Ministry of Manpower.
Ms Nur Sabariah graduated from the National University of Singapore. After her Postgraduate Diploma in Teaching at National Institute of Education (NIE), she taught General Paper and Project Work at Anderson Junior College where she also served as Head of Department for Project Work. While at AJC, she completed her Postgraduate Diploma in Applied Linguistics from RELC. In 2010, she completed her Master in Curriculum, Teaching and Learning at NIE and went on to serve at Curriculum Planning and Development Division, English Language and Literature Branch.
She believes that every child can be nurtured to realize their full potential.
Mrs Koh – Peck Seok Hoon has a wealth of experience in the primary schools, having served as a Vice-Principal of two other primary schools and managing students of varying profiles. She was also part of a team instrumental in the setting up of Chua Chu Kang Primary School. She held various roles and led the school in the English Language and Mathematics curriculum as the Head of Department. In the schools that she served, she led them in achieving the People Developer Standard.
She believes that every child has his own potential and she aspires to develop and empower teachers to help each child fulfill his own potential.
Ms Linda Chua has spent a number of years working in MOE Higher Education Division before her posting to Corporation Primary School as the Vice-Principal (Admin). While she was at MOE Higher Education Division, she received a scholarship for her postgraduate studies. After she returned from her studies, she was seconded to the Council for Private Education (CPE) to be part of the pioneering team to set up the new Statutory Board under MOE.
She believes that every child wants to learn and has aspirations and it is our job to discover their passion and help them to grow and glow.
