At MK @ West Spring, we celebrate Children's Day in conjunction with our Literacy Day- which we call JELLY Day (Just Enjoy the Language and Literacy around You)!
J.E.L.L.Y Day 2025
On Thursday, 2 October 2025. The children came dressed as their favourite storybook characters, proudly bringing along their favourite books to share with friends.Throughout the celebration, the children took part in a series of fun, story-inspired games and activities. The K1s explored The Very Busy Spider by Eric Carle through interactive games that highlighted the importance of hard work and patience. The K2s enjoyed meaningful discussions and play activities based on Waiting Is Not Forever by Elizabeth Verdick, learning about patience and turn-taking in a hands-on way. For the Mother Tongue segment, the children had a wonderful time engaging with Guru-Guru by Lin Shi Cong, deepening their appreciation for language through playful storytelling. π·οΈπβ¨
J.E.L.L.Y Day 2024
To celebrate Childrenβs Day and J.E.L.L.Y. Day, the children came to school in creative costumes, bringing their favorite books. Alongside the festivities, there were fun activities for the children, such as Germ Tag, a game related to one of the Big Books the children chose as their favourite Starlight book. They shared many wonderful stories with their peers. For snack, the children enjoyed rainbow cakes and popcorn while watching some short movies together as a class. We are so proud of our children for embracing their imaginations and sharing special moments together!

On 5 October 2023, the children once again got the opportunity to come dressed up as their favourite story book characters! They played games that were based on their chosen favourite Starlight book, and even had a fashion parade to show off the wonderful creative efforts of parents and children!

On 6 October 2022, the children came do to school dressed up as their favourite storybook characters. They had great fun participating in various activities such as the interclass competition, Kahoot quizzes, Starlight book charades as well as designing their own crayons.
